IPL Photorejuvenation

IPL stands for intense pulsed light, a method of treatment that uses concentrated light energy to correct blemishes in the skin. Typically, IPL excels at treating conditions such as fine lines, wrinkles, freckles and melasma, but it can also be used in more niche applications to treat spider veins, port-wine stains, rosacea, acne and even stretch marks. It achieves this by sending light energy into the skin, which is transformed into heat deep in the dermal layers. This triggers the body’s natural healing process, flushing the areas with essential proteins and healing factors.

Laser Vein Ablation

Spider veins may not be a medical concern or painful, but they can make someone feel very self-conscious about their appearance. It will often drive men and women to avoid clothing that is revealing like shorts, skirts or dresses, and it is very common for people to not even know that a treatment exists. Laser vein ablation is one of the best tools to address spider veins. It uses concentrated light energy to destroy the targeted vein. Once the vein has been killed, blood flow will naturally reroute to healthier veins in the area, and the appearance of the spider vein will fade.

miraDry

Excessive underarm sweat is a frustrating condition that can make many people nervous to even leave their houses on a warm day. Luckily, miraDry can eliminate the sweat glands in the underarms entirely, preventing the overproduction of sweat and helping you to claim your confidence once again. The device uses microwave energy that is delivered straight into the gland. While it is capable of destroying the gland, it is not so painful that patients are in agony. In fact, many patients describe the sensation as mildly painful but easily tolerable.

Photodynamic Therapy

This is a form of light therapy that is used to treat acne, acne scars, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and other blemishes. While these are the cosmetic applications, in dermatology, photodynamic therapy is also used to treat warts, pre-cancerous growths, macular degeneration, mouth cancer and, in some cases, even skin cancer. PDT can cause some minor side effects like redness, swelling, tingling or mild blistering, but these can typically be resolved without the need for any level of medication.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a very common treatment for varicose veins and spider veins. It is one of the most practiced and perfected methods available. It involves the injection of a solution into the problematic vein. The solution kills the surrounding vein, forcing blood to reroute to healthier avenues. As the body breaks down the leftover scar tissue, the bulging of varicose veins and the color of spider veins begin to fade. It is considered minimally invasive and is a good option for most people with either of these conditions, regardless of factors like age, weight or sex. It is required that you are at least over the age of 20, but there are always exceptions to the rule that can be made.

It is cleared by the FDA for use in the eyebrow, chin and neck, and is the only ultrasound device that is permitted to do so.
