There are a lot of skin conditions that can hurt our appearance — almost too many to count. Unfortunately, the number of conditions and the number of available treatments are pretty similar. But Scarlet RF offers such a wide array of cosmetic treatments that it has become a staple in the aesthetics community because of its ability to safely and effectively treat so many different patients.

If you are someone with one of the many conditions revolving around skin integrity, discoloration or scarring, then you are likely going to be someone who can benefit from the Scarlet RF system.

Scarlet RF is s revolutionary treatment that combines the power of microneedling and radiofrequency energy to achieve new levels of facial correction for a host of different conditions. It not only utilizes current technology on the market but also takes advantage of cutting-edge applications like the “Na” method that have proven to be better than the current status quo.

What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling is the methodical puncturing of the skin with tiny hypodermic needles. This process stimulates key functions in the skin like collagen and elastin protein production and the amount of hyaluronic acid available. It has been used for years as a way to correct many different aesthetic conditions.

What Is Radiofrequency Therapy?

RF energy therapy and microneedling achieve similar goals with different technologies. While microneedling uses physical needles to damage the underlying layer of skin, RF therapy uses radiofrequency. When emitted into the skin, the energy will be converted by the skin into heat, “damaging” the surrounding tissue. This technology is highly effective and greatly practiced so that a provider can know exactly how much energy to emit without causing damage to neighboring areas.

What Sets Scarlet RF Apart?

There are plenty of microneedling treatments on the market, just like there are plenty of RF energy options available as well. But the crossover between the two, particularly to the efficacy level of Scarlet RF, is unmatched in the aesthetic industry.

This treatment isn’t just effective and popular because it combines two technologies, though; it also implements a new method of RF energy distribution known as the “Na Effect.” It was named after Jangju Na, the doctor and scientist who discovered the immense benefits of emitting RF energy in the shape of a teardrop.

This particular approach accomplished a couple of different feats. Firstly, it allows the most amount of RF energy to reach the part of the skin where collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid are produced and stored, bolstering the amount of improvement that is made. (For more information on why these substances are important, scroll down to the next section.)

Secondly, it minimizes the amount of damage the earlier layers of skin undergo because less surface area is exposed to the RF energy. This improves the patient experience by minimizing pain and discomfort during and after the session is completed.

Why Do We Need Scarlet RF?

We face a multitude of cosmetic concerns as we move through life. Some of them are environmental and avoidable, while others are genetic and largely out of our control. Whatever the case may be, there is usually always something that each of us wishes we could fix about our appearance.

As we get older, our bodies begin to slow down on the natural production of substances like collagen, elastin and even hyaluronic acid. Collagen and elastin are among the most abundant protein in our bodies and is also primarily responsible for making sure our skin remains taut and youthful. Hyaluronic acid is the natural “filler” our skin has to look full and healthy.

Unfortunately, there is little to be done about these without medical intervention since they are natural processes. Acne, acne scarring and large pores, on the other hand, are great examples of conditions that can be both environmental and genetic. People can minimize and reduce their impact with effort, but to some degree, these are predetermined by genetics.

Of course, there are some purely environmental conditions that exist as well, like sun damage or skin degradation caused by UV exposure. Still, we should understand that we aren’t always going to remember to be hypervigilant about skin health. Sometimes, you just want to enjoy the sun.

All of these (and many other unmentioned) factors are reasons that someone needs Scarlet RF treatment and correction.

FAQs

What Can Scarlet RF Achieve?

Scarlet RF is one of the most “catch-all” treatments on the market. It can improve any of the following conditions:

  • Acne
  • Acne scarring
  • Skin ptosis (sagging)
  • Rosacea
  • Volume loss
  • Overly large pores
  • Spider veins
  • Sun damage
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Other scarring concerns
  • Other discoloration concerns

These are a handful of the most common applications of Scarlet RF, but even if you don’t see your specific condition, let us know. You might be happy to hear that Scarlet RF is still a good option for you.

Am I a Candidate for Scarlet RF?

Most people with any of the aforementioned conditions are going to be good candidates for Scarlet RF treatment. There are virtually no limitations based on skin type, tone or texture, and there are also very few medical conditions that would disqualify you as a candidate.

One of the most important factors is understanding the limitations of Scarlet RF. If you come in with unreasonable expectations, you are likely setting yourself up to be disappointed in what would otherwise be considered a successful session with noticeable improvement.

Make sure to do plenty of research, review before and after photos and ask as many questions as you need during your consultation with our office so that you are armed with all the information as you move forward with decision making.

How Should I Prepare for Scarlet RF?

Scarlet RF is a minimally invasive procedure, so there is no need to worry about lengthy preparations, lab work, extensive physical examinations or other necessities when undergoing surgical treatments. The best thing you can do is avoid excessive sun exposure and other harsh facial treatments to make sure your skin is as healthy as possible on the day of your session.

What Is the Scarlet RF Procedure Like?

Scarlet RF is a very straightforward procedure. Your face will first be thoroughly cleaned, and then a topical numbing agent will be applied to help mitigate potential discomfort. Once that happens, one of our medical professionals will set the Scarlet RF device to the appropriate settings for your needs. This will all be reviewed with you prior to the day of your procedure.

Once set, the machine will then be moved along the targeted area of your skin. The device will Intermittently puncture your skin with tiny microneedles that emit RF energy. This part is considered to be very mild — most patients only feel a bit of pressure and some heat on the skin.

Once completed, your skin will be cleaned again and then you will be sent on your way to begin your very minimal “recovery.” The entire process takes about 20 minutes for the face and 10 minutes for the neck. More than enough time to get in and out during a lunch break.

How Many Scarlet RF Sessions Will I Need?

Here is some of the best news: you only need one treatment of Scarlet RF to see noticeable results in your skin. We do recommend that you have three to four treatments a year to ensure you are maintaining optimal results year-round.

Some people may need more or less, depending on their reactions to the treatment and the amount of correction being made. Our team can help you develop an effective plan tailored to your needs.

Is Scarlet RF Painful?

No! In addition to using a topical numbing agent, Scarlet RF also uses microscopic needles that reduce the amount of pain or discomfort you experience. These needles are much smaller than what you would expect with a vaccination or blood draw. Since the RF energy portion of the device uses the “Na” approach, there is very little damage done to the surface layers of skin as well.

What Should I Expect from the Scarlet RF Recovery?

There is no recovery in the traditional sense, meaning you will not need to take time off work or avoid your usual routines after this procedure. We do recommend avoiding excessive sunlight for a few days and staying safe with an SPF cream, but you can generally return to your life per usual immediately after the procedure is complete.

What Results Should I Expect from Scarlet RF?

You can expect to see a nearly immediate improvement in any of the conditions listed in the “What Can Scarlet RF Achieve?” section. While some changes are right away, you will also experience a tightening of the skin and other bolstered results in the time after the procedure. This is because much of the progress that happens is caused by the healing process, which happens slowly over time.

How Much Does Scarlet RF Cost?

Because Scarlet RF is such a versatile treatment, the cost range for it differs much too widely to give an accurate estimate without having a consultation performed. During your first meeting with us, however, we can give you an exact price to consider as you move forward with your decision-making.
